There will be one, I think to 2020 we will hear new LP from RHCP produced of course by Danger Mouse. But for me Rick Rubin > Danger Mouse, anyway LPs produced by Danger Mouse was great too!

Yeah, haven't they said it would be produced by Danger Mouse, like they "owed it to him" or something to stick with him? Hoping that they'll go further into a new sound myself.

Personally, I enjoyed the fresh take on RHCP's music that working with Danger Mouse on The Getaway brought, but I wouldn't be against seeing Rick Rubin brought back on board. albeit with one condition:
Rubin is not allowed to oversee the mixing of the album.
I love Rick Rubin and his incredibly diverse and successful body of work- that isn't what this complaint is about. But repeatedly (as far back as 1999, to my knowledge, possibly even further back), Rubin's mixes have been notorious for falling victim to not only the "loudness war, but also major issues with compression and clipping due to his mixes. If Rubin merely produced, and the band had a final say over the mixing (or someone else was brought in exclusively to mix), then I'd be okay with Rubin coming back into the studio for the follow-up to The Getaway.
As it stands right now, though, I'd prefer either Danger Mouse or self-production to Rick Rubin's return.

I didn't love Nigel Godrich's mix for The Getaway, but I love that they tried something new with it.

I read something along those lines too. I think they'll try making another album with Danger Mouse now that they know how it's like to work with him. Although I love DM's work, I think I prefer Rubin to work with the band. I feel like TG is a really good album but the sound lacks something. I'm looking forward to new songs tho! Hope they record a new album during 2019, I'm sure they have half of the tracklist written by now

I think Greg Kurstin might be in with a shot. He's a big deal these days (working with Paul McCartney now) and has history with the band...

I was listening to the last Foo Fighters album before and he produced it too, so why not? I'm also a McCartney fan, so... I'd be okay with it It could happen, he's getting very famous now and he's one of the Top5 producers in the world right now.

He's become a sort of "name" as well, much like Rubin or Danger Mouse. My only issue is that a lot of these new trendy cool producer types tend to mess with drumsounds a lot. Chad is completely neutered on The Getaway, and a lot of Kurstin's stuff reminds me of the way all the drums in the 80s sounded. Gated and smacky!

Honestly it is about the Chemistry between the band. Not only that it has to be someone they respect and can follow to oroduce their new Album. I know their roots and to be honest there are NO better options than Rick Rubin. TheRubin family name comes from a long list of talented musicians and I know from a friend telling me while he was doing Akon’s album that he has erfect pitch too. He had to call a sound engineer and replace a single note on the keyboard/mixing board because the note fell flat. Rick Rubin does s lot of different music and using the other Producers here mentioned has literally no bearing since they cant pull or use all their talents together. Just watching how Flea and John Frusciante squared up to play live at Slane Castle the Californication song shows how in sync those two are. I appreciate the suggestions but it is a chistry thing. Little this little that to also reach a larger audience snd thise bandmembers are best together to also get Platinum instead of promoting and marketing only to flop like a gold record or trash records and write them off. Old school trick i saw they did in the past!
